Lauren Rachelle Levy: Her rise in the entertainment industry
Since 2013, Lauren Rachelle Levy has been working as the VP Current Programming, overseeing shows comedies and dramas such as ‘Mindy Project,’ ‘The Following,’ ‘Gang Related,’ and ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’ Levy started at 20th Century Fox in 2010 after a stint as VP of Offspring Entertainment, where she was the associate producer of ‘The Last Song.’
In 2013, Lauren Rachelle Levy made the jump from films to the TV side of Fox Entertainment at the age of 33.
Before working for 20th Century Fox and Offspring Entertainment, Levy worked for four years as a creative executive at Miramax Films.

It’s a good thing Levy started working at Mirimax or else she might not have met her screenwriting husband. She read his screenplay ‘500 Days of Summer,’ and was immediately taken by Neustadter’s voice. When Levy brought hi in for a professional meeting, he was immediately taken in by his soon-to-be wife.
I was like, ‘Wow, this woman is beautiful and really smart, the entire package.’ I was hoping maybe we could turn that professional meeting around and get a little more personal, but she was all business.

The couple met while working on Neustadter’s film ‘500 Days of Summer,’ and it’s ironic that they met this way. Neustadter’s ex was a big influence on the film’s direction, as she became engaged while Neustadter worked with his writing partner, Michael H. Weber, on the film. There’s also the film’s less than happy ending, but thankfully Neustadter and Levy’s romance ended better than the film, because three years later, at age 30, Levy married Neustatder, age 33. Together they have one son.
This couple remains down to earth avoiding too much social media use and Levy keeps her Instagram private. Even without Instagram photos, though, she and Neustradter use Twitter to speak out about politics or re-tweet photos of their creative works.

The movie has already won several awards for James Franco’s eccentric performance in the film. Moving forward, though, Neustadter and Weber will be working with another John Greene novel, ‘Looking for Alaska.’
