Paige’s Early Life in England

Paige, whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis, was born on the 17th of August in 1992. She is the daughter of Patrick Bevis and Julia Hamer-Bevis. Paige was born and raised in Norwich, England. She has a brother named Zak, born in 1990, and a half-brother named Roy, born in 1981. Paige’s entire family is involved in professional wrestling. Unlike a lot of pro-wrestlers, she was not always a fan of wrestling. According to her mother, Paige wanted to become a zoologist when she was a young child. She was initially scared of the sport. Eventually, however, she developed an interest in pro-wrestling because of her brothers. She then had her first official wrestling match at the age of 13. Paige also worked as a bartender and bouncer during her teenage years. In 2008, she completed her secondary education at The Hewlett School in her hometown of Norwich. In an episode of Total Divas, Paige revealed that she was once pregnant as a teen and had a miscarriage.

Her father, Patrick, used the ring name Ricky Knight. Paige’s family founded a wrestling promotion in 1994. It is called World Association of Wrestling (WAW) and it is based in Norwich, England. They also run a wrestling school called The WAW Academy. Paige’s mother and brother are the main instructors in that school. Paige was only 13 years old when she made her wrestling debut in World Association of Wrestling, a promotion owned by her family. She performed under the ring name Britani Knight. Her father suggested the name “Britani” because Paige had blonde hair, similar to singer Britney Spears. Paige teamed up with her mother in a tag team match in her wrestling debut. Paige, at 14 years old, was already able to travel across Europe and in the United States as a pro-wrestler. She competed in several wrestling promotions in different European countries such as World Wide Wrestling League (W3L) in Scotland, Real Deal Wrestling (RDW) in England, Turkish Power Wrestling in Turkey, and Pro Wrestling: EVE in England. She was also a part of Shimmer Women Athletes, an American wrestling promotion exclusively for female wrestlers. Paige has also captured several championships during her time in the independent wrestling scene.

Paige as a WWE Wrestler

Paige had been a professional wrestler for 6 years prior to signing with WWE. However, she was not successful at her first tryout. Paige first applied to become a WWE wrestler in 2010 when a talent scout came to her home country. Unfortunately, she was not chosen. It seems like Paige was really determined to become a part of the biggest name in professional wrestling since she didn’t wait long before going to another tryout. In 2011, a few months after her first tryout, she passed the audition and was hired by the WWE. She was sent to WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), which was later on renamed as NXT. In NXT, she competed under the ring name Paige. Fans admired her for her unique character and impressive in-ring skills. A lot of people would agree that Paige was a dominant force in NXT. She became the very first NXT Women’s Champion in 2013. Her reign lasted for 274 days. It’s quite interesting to note that Paige was forced to relinquish her NXT Women’s Championship because she had won another championship. In 2015, Paige appeared on Season 6 of WWE Tough Enough. She was a judge on that show along with Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and Hulk Hogan. WWE Tough Enough is a reality TV show and contest in which the winner receives a WWE contract.

Paige appeared in the TV movie “Santa’s Little Helper” which was produced by WWE Studios. She played the role of Eleanor, one of Santa’s elves. “Santa’s Little Helper” is a comedy movie that was released in November 2015.
