Wolf Blitzer is an American journalist who is a CNN reporter since 1990 and anchors several shows. He is also an author and has written articles in Hebrew for several news outlets.

Wolf’s full name is Wolf Isaac Blitzer and he was born in Augsburg which is an American zone in Allied-occupied Germany. His date of birth is 22 March 1948 which makes him of age 70 now. His father David Blitzer was a home builder and his mother Cesia Zylberfuden was a homemaker. His ethnicity is Jewish and his parents had migrated to the US as a refugee from the German concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland. He holds an American nationality.
Wolf studied at the Kenmore West Senior High School and was raised in Buffalo, New York. In the year 1970, Wolf acquired his BA in history degree from the State University of New York, Buffalo. He did further studies and received his MA in International Relations from the John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He also learned the Hebrew language and has studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for it.

Wolf began work in the early 1970s at the Tel Aviv office of Reuters News Agency. In 1973, he was hired as a Washington correspondent for the English Israeli newspaper, Jerusalem Post. He worked with this company until 1990. He used to also publish Hebrew articles in several newspapers. He had a different pen name for such writings. He was also the editor of the monthly publication of Near East Report of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. He published his first book in 1985 and it was his perspective of the US-Israel relations. He covered several major events and happenings during this time.
In 1990, he joined CNN and was first their cable network’s military affairs reporter. He covered the Gulf war and his team received an award for their work. He was given the post of a White House correspondent in 1992 and was on this post until 1999. In 2000, he got his own show called Wolf Blitzer Reports which aired until 2005. He was the host of The Situation Room from 2005. In 2013, he was the anchor of CNN Newsroom and in 2014, its name was changed to Wolf. His style of presentation has been criticized and stated as humorless. Nonetheless, Wolf has gathered several awards in his career which now spans nearly 5 decades.
