Kelvin Yu was born in 1979. He is a Taiwanese American actor who started his television and film career with a recurring role as Freddy Gong on the WB series ‘Popular’. Kelvin Yu was born to parents, Yu Ming-chuan and Lin Ling-juan. He was raised in Los Angeles, which he calls his home. He has completed his graduation from the University of California, Los Angeles earning honors in Film, Theatre, and Television. His brother, Charles Yu, is a writer. Kelvin Yu gained recognition and fame after his recurring role in ‘Master of None’. Kelvin Yu revealed that he auditioned for his first school play when he was just 13 years old. “I never aspired to any other line of work from that moment on,” Yu recalled adding that he had a very typical childhood. “I wasn’t rubbing shoulders with the kids of famous people. My upbringing was definitely piano lessons and homework, just as much as the next Asian kid,” Yu said. What made him take a plunge into acting was his passion for theater which surfaced at an early age. Kelvin Yu plays the role of Brian on “Master of None’.
