Tomica Wright is a film producer and the widow of rapper Eric Wright who was popularly called as Eazy-E. After the death of her husband in 1995 due to HIV, she inherited his assets and wealth and is now the owner and CEO of Ruthless Records label.

Eric and Tomica Wright had met at an LA nightclub in 1991 and began dating each other. Tomica at that time was a single mother working in Motown. After 4 years of a wonderful courtship, the two tied the knot in the year 1995. It was 12 days before Eric died of AIDS disease. Eric died on 29 March 1995.

The couple has two kids who were both born before Eric’s death. The elder is a son named Dominick and the younger is daughter called Daijah who was born 6 months before father Eric’s death.

Eric Wright was diagnosed with HIV just one month prior to his death. He was a great Gangster rapper. Eric had multiple famous albums such as Eazy Duz-it, We Want Eazy, Boyz-in-the-Hood, and others. He had also founded his own music company called Ruthless Records in 1987.

Tomica Wright’s career started as the works as a secretary for Clarence Avants at Tabu Records and stayed with this job for a few years before she later joined Motown Records. At both places, she got a lot to learn and gained much knowledge which later helped her in her business.

After Eric’s HIV diagnosis, she left Motown and took up the post of a general manager with Ruthless Records. After Eric’s death, Tomica Wright became the CEO of the company. For a few years, she suffered a loss in the business. But soon she started giving breaks to new talents which then boosted her business and company.

Tomica has also purchased a mansion of $3,099,000 in Calabas in 2005 which had five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and was measuring 6,701 sq ft on the land size of 0.33 acres. Tomica Wright named the mansion as ‘Eazy’s Playhouse.’ But she was unable to pay the mortgage installments and the property was foreclosed in 2012. She later sold the mansion for $2,067,000 on 27 November 2012.

In 1997, Tomica signed a contract with Sony Music. On the 10th anniversary of Ruthless Records, Tomica released an album called Decade of Game which also included 2 unreleased records of Eazy-E.

Tomica Wright and son’s Lawsuit

Tomica Wright and Eric’s son Little Eazy-E have settled their legal battle over the use of the N.W.A. name which has been going on for years.

Their lawsuit started in 2017 when Tomica and Ruthless Records sued Eric Wright Jr. and N.W.An Entertainment as they had claimed ownership of the label’s trademarks.

Little Eazy-E won’t be able to use the names  “Straight Outta Compton,” “N.W.A.” and “Ruthless” but can use the “Rich & Ruthless”.
