Frank Theodore Levine, otherwise known as Ted Levine, was born on May 29th, 1957. He is an American actor best known for his roles as Buffalo Bill in ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ and as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer in the television series ‘Monk’. Levine was born in Bellaire, Ohio to parents Charlotte Virginia and Milton Dmitri Levine. Both of his parents were doctors and also members of ‘Physicians for Social Responsibility.’ He calls himself as a “Hillbilly Jew” because he’s part Jewish his fathers’ side of the family. He was raised in Oak Park, Illinois and in 1975, he learned he had been admitted to Marlboro College.
