Rose Leslie: From Scottish Nobility
Rose Leslie may be well-known for her roles in Game of Thrones and Downtown Abbey, but she is also important in her own right as she was born into a noble Scottish family. The 30-year-old actress was raised at Lickleyhead Castle in Aberdeenshire, which is her family’s 15th century ancestral seat. Rose Leslie’s father is Sebastian Arbuthnot-Leslie. He holds the title of the Aberdeenshire Chieftain of Clan Leslie. Rose’s mother is Candida Mary Sibyl Leslie, also known as “Candy” of Clan Fraser. She is the maternal great-granddaughter of Simon Fraser who was the 13th Lord Lovat. She is also a descendant of Charles II of Scotland and England. Rose Leslie’s family still lives in a castle, currently residing at the 12th century Warthill Castle in Scotland’s Old Rayne. Rose Leslie’s other noble and high up family connections include her great-great grandfather, who was Don Guillermo de Landa y Escandon, who served as Mayor of Mexico City, William Dalrymple the British Historia, French Huguenot Ambrose Lisle March Phillipps De Lisle, the politician Charles March-Phillipps and MP James Grimston, the Third Earl of Verulam. Growing up she received her education first at Rayne North School in Aberdeenshire, and then at the private school Millfield in Street, Somerset. She then moved on to attend the London Academy of Music and Drama for three years, where she graduated from with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in 2008. Being from nobility, Rose had the freedom and opportunity to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. And although she is from nobility, it is her talent that has earned her success on screen and stage, as she delights audiences with her strong and noticeable performances.
Rose Leslie: A Successful Actress
Rose Leslie has had a number of successful roles within the movie industry that have helped her on her rise to fame. Her first breakout role was in the movie New Town, for which she won the Scottish BAFTA for Best Acting Performance – New Talent Award. New Town is a drama mystery film in which Rose Leslie played the role of Rhian. After that, from September to October of 2010, she played the lead role in Nell Leyshon’s infamous play, Bedlam. In the play Leslie played the character of May, a gorgeous girl driven mad by a lost love. This performance in Bedlam got Rose Leslie on the radar of some important people and proved to be the bridge she needed to earn her true break through role as Gwen Dawson, a housemaid, on the popular television series Downton Abbey. Rose Leslie appeared on Downton Abbey in the first season, leaving the show after her character decided to leave her life in service upon finding a job as a secretary in the outside world. Then, in 2012, Rose Leslie was cast to play the wilding Ygritte on the popular HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. This role earned her some major acclaim for her performance, which was hailed as both dangerous and flirtatious. She also met her real life love on set in the form of her on screen lover, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington. Since Ygritte was killed off on Game of Thrones, including starring alongside Vin Diesel and Elijah Wood in the 2015 action adventure and fantasy film, The Last Witch Hunter. Rose held the role of Chloe. The Last Witch Hunter 2 is set to come out sometime in 2018, but it is unclear whether Rose will return in the cast. All in all Rose Leslie has earned a net worth of $4 million so far thanks to her acting roles. Her soon- to-be husband, Kit Harington, has a net worth of $12 million.

Rose Leslie: Soon To Be Kit Harington’s Wife
Rose Leslie and Kit Harington knew of each other before being cast as lovers on Game of Thrones. According to Kit, he was attracted to Rose long before playing her lover on screen. Mix that with their remote and beautiful filming location in Iceland and some pretend love making, and it was all too easy for him to fall in love with her in real life. Although it was reported that the two had split for a time, they eventually reconciled, keeping their relationship quiet, and just recently announced their engagement in The Times in September. Although the date when Rose is set to become Kit’s wife has not yet been set, she has moved into his home and is making herself comfortable there.
