Kim Nam Joon is a rapper, songwriter, and record producer from South Korea. Kim Nam Joon is the main rapper and leader of the well-known hip-hop boy band Bangtan Boys (BTS).

RM Biography

 Kim Nam-Joon, also known as Namjoon and RM, is a South Korean actor (formerly as Rap Monster). He was born in Ilsan-gu, South Korea, on September 12, 1994. He is 27 years old as of 2021. His mother, father, and sister Kim Geong Min make up his family. RM learned English with his mother at a young age by watching the American television series “Friends.” During his primary school years, he was awestruck by uniforms and aspired to be a security guard in the future.

Namjoon had a reputation as a neat and quiet student prior to his debut. During his school years, he was a top performer on the national school exam. He also had a 148 IQ and a TOEIC score of over 900. As a student, RM actively wrote poetry and was frequently recognized for his efforts. He received moderate attention after posting his work on an online poetry website. RM became interested in a literary career as a result of this but later decided against it.

RM began his music career as a solo underground artist under the stage name Runch Randa long before he became RM. On June 12, 2013, Namjoon made his debut as a member of the hip-hop boy band BTS. He was the first member of BTS to join. Rapping, he said, helped him cope with the stress of his studies. His debut single, ‘No More Dreams,’ was inspired by the days when he worked late into the night for his exams. RM has worked on every album released by BTS since his debut.

RM and Warren G released their first single, P.D.D (Please Don’t Die), in March 2015. He released his first solo mixtape a few days later. ‘RM’. On October 23, 2018, he made a comeback with the mixtape “Mono.” He also released three music videos from his mixtape: “Moonchild,” “Forever Rain,” and “Seoul.” In addition, RM has written and produced over 100 songs to date. He has collaborated with many artists, including Wale, Warren G, Gaeko, Krizz Kaliko, MFBTY, Fall Out Boy, Primary, and Lil Nas X.

RM, along with fellow BTS member J-Hope, was promoted from associate to full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association in January 2020. They join bandmate Suga, who was previously recognized as a full member in 2018. He appeared on Younha’s song “Winter Flower,” which was released on January 6, 2020.
