After what seemed like an impossible mission, James Franco gained his first paying role on a pizza commercial to later star in “Freaks and Geeks.” Though the television show “Freaks and Geeks” was short in its running, that moment catapulted James Franco’s career. During the late 90s and early 2000s, James Franco would become a household name. In 2002, James Franco reached the beginning of his career’s success when he appeared in “Spider-Man.” After being considered for the lead role in movie “Spider-Man,” James Franco ended up playing the role of Harry Osborne, the son of the Green Goblin character. James Franco continued his role in the “Spider-Man” trilogy making appearances until “Spider-Man 3.” James Franco continued receiving success in his career and later in 2008, starred in “Pineapple Express” alongside Seth Rogen. “Pineapple Express” was received warmly by critics but grossed $101M at the box office. Throughout the 2010s, James Franco played in various movies which included the movie “This is the End.” And later in 2016, he was a part of the “11.22.63” Hulu project. The mini-series “11.22.63” was a sci-fi thriller by Stephen King that lasted for eight episodes. James Franco’s latest project was “The Duece” in 2017.

Though James Franco is of Jewish descent, the actor has played many homosexual roles on his projects which have left viewers in the unknown when it comes to his sexuality. However, James Franco has only been known to have publicly dated women. In 1999, James Franco began dating Marla Sokolof and the relationship lasted for five years. James Franco also dated Ahna O’Reilly until 2011. After dating Ahna O’Reilly, James Franco got scrutinized for trying to date a 17-year-old young lady from Scotland while living in New York. James Franco has always been viewed as a sex symbol by fans, however, most recently on January 9, 2018, James Franco was faced with sexual misconduct allegations by five women. James Franco has since disputed all five allegations against him. Outside of his Hollywood career, James Franco is a part of many charitable organizations including volunteering at the Art of Elysium, hosting a benefit dinner for 826DC, a non-profit foundation in 2011, and providing an autographed t-shirt for auction with the Yoshiki Foundation.
