Mathias Jensen is a Danish footballer who currently plays for Brentford as a midfielder. He is an FC Nordsjlland academy product who has been capped by Denmark at the youth level. Jensen progressed through FC Nordsjlland’s academy and signed a three-year professional contract in January 2015. He was promoted to the first-team squad for the 2015–16 season and appeared in five games, scoring one goal in a 2–2 draw with Randers on May 1, 2016. Jensen was a regular in 2016–17, appearing in 22 games, before 2017–18 proved to be his breakout season. He appeared in 36 games, scored 12 goals, was named captain, and his achievements were recognized by the DBU and his club, with the DBU 2017 Talent of the Year and FC Nordsjlland Player of the Year awards, respectively. Jensen left Nordsjlland in August 2018 after three early 2018–19 season appearances. Jensen made 66 appearances and scored 15 goals in just over three seasons as a professional at Farum Park.
Jensen appeared in 30 games and scored three goals for Denmark between the ages of 18 and 21. He was a member of Denmark’s squads at the European U21 Championships in 2017 and 2019. Jensen was named to the senior team’s preliminary 35-man squad for the 2018 World Cup, but he did not make the final roster.
