Marrit Leenstra was born in 1989. She is a Dutch long track speed skater. She made her World cup debut in Moscow at the 2007 season. In 2008, she shot to fame after she made a junior world record in the 1500 m event at the World Cup in Salt Lake City. She even got qualified for the European Championships and was ranked 6th after all four distances. With this result she also qualified for the World Allround.
