Bradley Simpson is a British pop singer who gained recognition when he joined the British pop/rock band called ‘The Vamps’. He is the lead vocalist and the rhythm guitarist of the band. There is a story of how he came to join the band and gain the much-deserved platform and fame. Let us learn on it here!
Bradley Simpson’s birth and growing early years
Bradley was born in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, the UK. His date of birth is 28 July 1995 and he is 22 years old now. His father is Derek Simpson while his mother’s name is Anne-Marie Simpson. He has an older sister named Natalie Simpson who was the band The Vamps’ first official photographer. His upbringing took place in the same Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield where he was born.
Bradley was a student of the Fairfax school in Sutton Coldfields and had gone back to his school in 2016 for the sports Relief Games – in partnership with Sports Relief. Brad told Birmingham Mail at that time:
“I’ve been following Greg James doing his Gregathon and I am very impressed – I couldn’t do one triathlon, let alone five in five different cities,”
He also added:
“I love sport. I did skateboarding for six years. I also like playing rugby and football. My family moved to the Midlands from Newcastle when I was a baby, so I support Newcastle rather than the Midland clubs.”
Bradley’s melodious career
Bradley’s love for music dates from his childhood. He learned to play guitar at 11 years and started singing when he was 14. He used to post his videos of his singing popular song covers on his YouTube channel.
In 2012, he joined the boy-band The Vamps which includes lead guitarist James McVey, bassist Connor Ball, and drummer Tristan Evans. James McVey was with Prestige Management. James saw music videos of Bradley Simpson posted on his YouTube channel. He liked Bradley’s voice and invited him to join his band which he was forming. Bradley complied and started writing songs with James for the band. He also took up the post of the lead singer of the band. Tristan came in through Facebook and Connor Ball joined the band after meeting the trio through a mutual friend.
Seeing their talent, Mercury Records signed them and their first original song termed ‘Can We Dance’ in September 2013. This was followed by ‘Wild Heart’ in January 2014. Both these songs were well-received and reached the top 3 in UK’s Singles chart. The band also provided support to pop punk band McFly’s Memory Lane Tour and also other groups such as The Wanted, Jack the Lad Swing, Little Mix, and Lawson.
The band also released their third single which was followed by their debut album in April 2014. It was a massive success and was called ‘Meet the Vamps’. Bradley with his band released their second studio album called ‘Wake Up’ in November 2015. The band also recorded a song for the animated film ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’. In May 2017, the band appeared on ‘Hands’ with Sabrina Carpenter and Mike Perry. Bradley has done a lot of tours with his band, did live concerts and also won several notable awards.
Bradley had also modeled for Saint Kidd.
Bradley has never opened up about his relationships in public. He is not married yet and was rumored to be dating singer, Lauren Jauregui in 2014. But Lauren was rumoured to have declined his approach as she was a lesbian, thus not interested in boys.
He is very much vibrant on social media. His Instagram has over 1.4 million followers, more than 1.94 million followers on Twitter. However, he is not active on Facebook.
