Kim Soo-Hyun is a South Korean actor who has given the world some notable roles in television dramas such as Dream High (2011), The Producers (2015), and also has starred in films such as The Thieves, Secretly Greatly, and Real.

Kim Soo-Hyun was born in Seoul, South Korea on 16 February 1988. His current age is 30 years. His father is Kim Chung-Hoon and he was the main vocalist of the Seven Dolphins band of the 1980s. In his childhood days, Kim was an introvert and shy person. Hence to help him overcome the shyness, his mother encouraged him to join acting classes in his high school. This paved the way for Kim to enter into the field of entertainment.
Kim Soo-Hyun registered at the Chung-Ang University and was in the Film and Theater Department there. His parents are divorced and he has a paternal younger half-sister born in 1994 and who is a singer and called Kim Ju-na. Kim also has a cousin in the field named Lee Sa-rang (with the real name Lee Jae-Hyun) and he is a director.

The first role of Kim in front of the camera was a supporting role in the TV series Kimchi Cheese Smile in 2007. In the year 2008, he got the main role in Jungle Fish on KBS. It was a critically acclaimed youth drama which dealt with school and academic cheating and such competitive issues. The same year, he became the host of the food variety show called Delicious Quiz and later did a short film called Cherry Blossom.
In 2009, Kim was cast in another short film called Worst Friends and this film had won the Best film in social drama award during the Mise en Scene Short Film Festival. He also appeared in Father’s House the same year. He was also the co-host of Boys and Girls Music Countdown.
The later years of fame
In 2010, Kim did Will it Snow for Christmas? His acting in Giant won him accolades. In 2011, he began to appear in the teen musical drama Dream High where he plays a country boy who becomes a musical sensation. His popularity increased and he became a household name. For the same role, he also gained international exposure and awards. For his role in Idols, he learned to sing and dance from the JYP Entertainment. He also did some soundtrack recordings for this drama.
His appearance in Moon Embracing the Sun won him more praise and he started getting offers for endorsements of products and also in films. He got a Baeksang Arts Award and Kim was happy about it. He said at that time:
“I am very grateful for this moment, but I am ashamed as well. It’s like getting a lot of homework. I’ll keep trying to become a better actor in order to remain worthy of this award”
His film The Thieves was released in 2012 and was a commercial hit. More films and TV programs and also more awards came his way. Kim continues to ride the ladder of success and his latest venture has been Real in 2017.

He has joined the mandatory military program in October 2017 and this will be completed in July 2019. He does look handsome in his military uniform, it has been reported.
He was listed in the top 10 celebrities by Forbes last year and his position was 4. He is said to have a net worth of USD 1.2 billion.

He is a professional bowler not yet married. He has no children and what about girlfriends? He was rumored to be dating Wonder Girls’ member Soe Hee in 2015 for a year. In 2012, he was linked with Yoona. But they split in 2013. Nana was also said to be romantically involved with Kim in 2014. Suzy of MissA was also said to be his love partner.
He has some criteria for his girlfriend which include: non-interfering, remembers him always, non-preaching type, and should be pretty and sexy.
