Erbanova used to visit same school class with Eva Samkova who is a snowboard cross Olympic Games winner. When she was 13, Erbanova was recommended to Petr Novak as a prospect. Since 2006, Erbanova is member of NOVIS Team. From the beginning, she was predicted to be a middle track skater like Ireen Wust or Anni Friesinger but later when she grew up she specialized in sprints. In 2008/09 season she gained victory in team world cup with Martina Sáblikova and Andrea Jirku. In the Junior World Championships in Moscow during the second 500 m event, she fell and lost chance to win a medal. As member of NOVIS team, Erbanova had to skate same events as the leader of the team Martina Sablikova who is long track skater. In 2012/13 season, Erbanova won her first individual senior world cup in Harbin on distance 1000 m. Erbanova loves listening to music, wood carving, reading and playing sudoku in her spare time. She competed in road cycling at the 2010 and 2011 national championships in the Czech Republic. She has broken her clavicle on three occasions during her career. She took up the sport at age 14 in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic. She states the reason for taking up the sport, “When I first saw speed skating on television at the age of 14 in 2006, I was laughing about the suits. What a crazy sport. I was playing ice hockey at the time. Then my gym teacher took me to a training camp with Martina [Sablikova], because there were two Czech girls in speed skating and they needed a third for the team pursuit. I did not want to do speed skating in the beginning, because I had my future planned in ice hockey, but speed skating went well and at the age of 16 I went to World Cups with Martina.” Erbanova’s most memorable achievement was winning gold in the sprint competition at the 2017 European Championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands, and competing at the Olympic Winter Games in 2010 and 2014. She regards teh Czech ice hockey player Jaromir Jagr and Canadian speed skater Christine Nesbitt as her heroes. Her greatest influence in life has also been the Czech speed skater Martina Sablikova. She trains with the philosophy, “Don’t allow the fear of losing to eliminate you from the game.” She was named the 2011 and 2012 Sportsperson of the Year Award – Junior by Czech sports journalists. The Sportsperson of the Year Award – Junior celebrates the region’s very best junior sportsperson who competes as an amateur, recognising their incredible achievements made within their discipline over the past year. In 2014 she moved to the Netherlands to train and compete. “Teams there specialize in sprint training and I see my future in sprints, while in the Czech Republic skaters are more focused on longer distances.”
