Jessica Chastain is an American movie actress and film producer. Jessica was born on March 24, 1977, in Sacramento, California. Her parents are Jerri Renee Hastey and the rock musician Michael Monasterio. They had Jessica at a young age, as they were both teenagers when she was born. Jessica Chastain has been estranged from her father and does not like to discuss the details of their relationship. Jessica Chastain was raised in Sacramento by her mother and stepfather, Michael Hastey, who is a firefighter. From him and her mother, she also has two sisters and two brothers. Tragically, one of her sisters whose name was Juliet died by committing suicide in 2003 following years of drug addiction and abuse. Jessica Chastain is very close with her stepfather and has said that her he was the first person to make her feel secure. She is also very close with her maternal grandmother, named Marilyn, stating that she has always been her biggest supporter and has always believed in her. Jessica studied acting at The Juilliard School in New York City.
