Jenna and the bio of her early life, education, and family
Jenna is 44 years old and was born in 1974 on 7 March. Her birthplace is Wayne in Indiana in the USA. But her upbringing was in St. Louis in Missouri. Her mother Anne used to teach history at school. Her father James Fischer is an engineer. She also has a younger sister who is Emily and she teaches third-grade students.
Jenna had a liking for acting and she first performed at age 6. She took part in an acting course which was conducted by her mother at Henry School, also in St. Louis. Her basic education was at Pierremont Elementary school and which was situated in Manchester in Missouri. She was then promoted to the Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves. It was a private all-girls’ school. Jenna later graduated from Truman State University with a BA in theater and a minor in journalism.
Jenna and her career start
Jenna was at her college when she began performing with a theater group. She relocated to LA in 1998 and joined Zoo District Theater. She appeared in a play there and got noticed by a talent agent and was signed by the agent.
In spite of her talent, Jenna had her struggling days when she was unable to get the right break into TV and films. Her first film role was in a sex video for psychiatric patients who were treated and later released from Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. This was a tiny bit of a role but Jenna did not lose heart.
Her first speaking role
After three years of her shift to LA, Jenna got a speaking role in 2001’s Spin-city where she played a waitress. She had small roles in films such as Employee of the Month, Lucky 13, and The Specials.
She also bagged guest roles in TV series such as Six Feet Under, That 70’s show, Strong Medicine, Miss Match, Cold Case, Undeclared, What I Like about you, and Off Centre. She then wrote, acted, and directed a mokumentary called LolliLove. This helped her for her role in The Office. She said:
“I really feel it was divine intervention that I chose to work in this medium for a year. It was the super best practice I could have ever gotten for the possibility of being on the show.”
She won awards for her directed film but she decided to quit directing and writing. She said:
“The directing was exhausting and the writing was painful. It was very difficult to direct and star in a movie. We also had a very small crew so I did a lot of things a normal director doesn’t have to do, like make the props and serve lunch. I was simultaneously getting into character, going over my lines, set dressing the next shot, coaching an actor, and brainstorming with my DP [cinematographer]. I’m good at multitasking, but that was too much for me. I couldn’t enjoy any one part the way I would have liked. I think I’ll stick to acting.”
Her role as a receptionist in The Office was good and she herself has done that job in the early days of her career for pocket money and to pay her bills. She loved playing the role. She did a lot of other films and TV series during this time. She also ventured into music videos and TV game shows. She continued some theater work. She, in 2017, has acted in My Houzz. Her estimated net worth is $ 15 million.
