Their friendship spanned over 10 years and on 17 October 2004 Sam’s body was found in his LA apartment. He was dead since 12 October 2004. The investigation revealed James to be the likely killer and he was arrested on 27 October 2004.
He had hit Sam repeatedly on the head and torched his body to cover up the crime. On 27 March he pleaded guilty of voluntary manslaughter and arson and on 5 April the same year, he was served 29 years and four months in jail as a sentence.
The cause of the murder was Sam asking James to move out of his a pay since he was spoiling it. In anger, James picked a hammer and killed Sam and torched his house.
