Another major point in Duff’s acting career was her role as Sam in the film A Cinderella Story, a tale of a modern-day Cinderella that did decently well in box office totals. In the same year as A Cinderella Story’s release, Hilary Duff came back in the spotlight of cinemas with her role as Terri Fletcher in the film Raise Your Voice, a movie about a small town girl enrolling in a performing arts school. If you search Rotten Tomatoes, you’ll find it only has a 15% calling it a “bland tween version of the movie Fame”. It’s safe to say Raise Your Voice wasn’t her greatest movie. Have you ever heard of a movie called Material Girls? In this movie, Hilary Duff was able to star alongside her older sister Haylie Duff. In the film, the two real-life sisters actually play sisters and heiresses to a family owning a cosmetic line that has made them rich. They also get a wake-up call stripping them of every cent, making them learn what it takes to survive in the world if you aren’t born into a rich family. Material Girls did not make it quite as big as A Cinderella Story in the box office either, unfortunately. Hilary Duff’s recent and most talked about acting adventure is going to be in a movie covering the late Hollywood actress Sharon Tate. Sharon Tate was murdered during the killing spree of Charles Manson. Reports say Tate was stabbed 16 times by one of Charles Manson’s followers. Hilary Duff will be telling her story by acting as the leading lady in the movie titled The Haunting of Sharon Tate that is said to be released in the upcoming year.

If you thought Hilary Duff’s success ended with acting, she can also sing. Throughout her time in the Disney Channel scene, Duff was on a number of Disney Star albums along with singing in The Lizzie McGuire movie.
