Richard Stephen “Richie” Sambora was born on July 11, 1959. He is a rock guitarist, producer, singer, and songwriter. His most notable job would be the lead guitar for Bon Jovi, a rock band that has been together for 30 years. Richie Sambora was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. His parents are Joan and Adam. Joan was a secretary while Adam a foreman in a factory. His first foray into the music world was through an accordion. The Accordion was the first instrument he ever tried to play and he started playing when he was just six. He didn’t find his way to the guitar until he was 12 years old with his inspiration being the death of Jimi Hendrix. Richie Sambora felt that he was influenced by mainly rock and roll and blues via The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Page, and more. He found his way to love Spanish classical music and became very interested in the Spanish guitar.
Richie Sambora was mainly the lead guitarist for Bon Jovi but that doesn’t mean that’s all he did. He co wrote a lot of the songs they performed including ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ and ‘You Give Love a Bad Name.’ He’s also known for the song ‘It’s My Life.’

Richie Sambora joined Bon Jovi when the former lead guitarist Dave Sabo decided to leave,in the 1980’s. In the 1990’s Richie Sambora decided to release his own solo album called, ‘Stranger in This Town,’ and unlike a lot of solo albums, his was very successful.
