Grimes was born on the 17th of March, 1988 in Vancouver, British Columbia with her birth name Claire Boucher. She was always one for the arts and attended a school in the creative arts field. She is a known singer now and it all began when she started focusing on music during her period of college at McGill University, Montreal.

It all started when Grime’s friend asked her to sing backing vocals for his band. She realized her talent after hitting all the high notes just right. This being a success, her song “Oblivion” was declared the best song of the decade. In the following years, her career in music flourished. “The thing that I hate about the music industry is all of a sudden it’s like, ‘Grimes is a female musician’ and ‘Grimes has a girly voice,'” she told the Fader. “It’s like, yeah, but I’m a producer, and I spend all day looking at f—ing graphs and EQs and doing really technical work.”
How She Met Elon Musk and Became His Girlfriend
Grimes and Elon Musk basically met on Twitter. It’s quite amazing how two people from totally different worlds came together. These two were seen on Twitter bonding over a joke when Elon reached out to her. She had beaten him to crack a joke about artificial intelligence about Rococo Basilisk’s character in her video of “Flesh without blood”. Ever since they have been appreciating and protecting each other through this platform. Along with some ups and downs, some business issues with Tesla, some distance, and rumors about them breaking up, they still remained together.

In March 2018 gossips spread that these two happened to be in a secret relationship for a while. It finally raveled when they made an appearance in the Met Gala, 2018. When asked Musk, he sweetly explained his love for Grimes and her talent as “wild fae artistic creativity and hyperintense work ethic”. Grimes announced her pregnancy in January 2020 with a cute picture of her baby bump. She had trolled her fans with pictures of her new album in the making, which also had a baby for the avatar. Later on, it was confirmed that Elon Musk was the father of the baby. On May 4th, 2020, Elon announced the birth of his son. They had named the baby “X AE A-12 Musk”.

The name is obviously unusual and hard to pronounce (Ex Ash A-Twelve). It was most likely put together because of Grimes’s album “4ÆM”. As for the legality of the name, along with California, no other states allow names to be registered that aren’t compiled from them regular 26 alphabets.
Later on, the baby’s pictures were all over the internet with tattoos. Elon joked about them replying to a fan, “Thanks : ) Never too young for some ink haha.” On May 24th, Elon Musk announced that they changed their baby’s name to “X Æ A-Xii” and Gowon, from the K-pop band, Loona will be the godmother to “X Æ A-Xii”.
What she is currently up to?
Having a baby changes everything. Still, many people keep a balance between their personal and work lives. According to Grime’s Instagram account, she posted this witty caption with her new Italian Vogue cover after giving birth. This means she’s all in on both, baby AND the music.

She doesn’t seem very active on Instagram which shows she might be having her hands full with the baby, but we believe she is still going strong as a musician. Who knows she might surprise us with a new single or an album soon? She has experienced and handled life differently. Her way of handling the baby would be something else too. Her twitter is somewhat active, but only the usual worldly affairs and news are seen by her retweets. Not so much about the baby or the music, till now.
