Greg is 55 now and his date of birth is 13 June in the year 1963 and in New York City, New York. His mother Judy used to serve the New York Public library whereas his father Aaron was President at the ABC Radio Network. His liking for comedy started from his childhood.
Greg studied at the best of the schools and later joined Phillips Exeter Academy and also Harvard University. He used to write for the Harvard Lampoon.
The early part of Greg’s career
After graduation, he took up a job with a newspaper but was not able to continue due to the budget cuts at that office. In 1987, he got an offer to write for Saturday Night Live and won several awards for it. He left this job in 1990.
In 1993, he started work with The Simpsons and was hired in the fifth season. He won awards here as well. He then left The Simpsons to join King of the Hill. He created more great characters that were originally not there and also rewrote the pilot script.
In 2005, it was Greg’s efforts that helped bring UK’s The Office to the USA. He gave Michael Scott’s character more likeability and was better received after some initial mixed reviews. For this too, Greg earned an award for his writing. After the success of The Office, he was asked to write for a spin-off of the series.
In 2011, he made a deal with NBC for more projects. He remade the UK’s Friday Night Dinner for the American people and he also worked on animated series for NBC.
