The much-in-demand Canadian singer
The international music sensation Canadian singer Celine Dion is going to have her first show in Taiwan in July 2018. For the 20000 seats for the two shows of this notable singer, 300000 people came for the grabs.
It was on 22 January 2018 noon that ticket sale commenced by Kham ticketing system at 8 different prices which ranged from NT$800 to NT$13800. China Times has observed and reported that there was such a clamber that the ticketing system dragged to a halt due to the sudden traffic for the tickets and took 30 minutes to restart.
Fans persistently have been demanding more shows of the famed singer and the promoters said that they would try to arrange for them. Celine Dion’s concerts are currently to be held on 11 and 13 July 2018 at Taipei Arena and would be called ‘Celine Dion Live 2018’.
Dion’s Asian trip would also include her performances in Japan, Macao, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. She will stay for 7 days in Taiwan.
Celine Dion’s career
Celine Dion has been singing since her childhood days. Her first public performance was at her brother’s wedding. She used to perform with her siblings at her parents’ piano bar. But she did not want to limit her talent and decided to go further and seek more prospects. Her first record called La voix du bon Dieu topped the local song charts and made her a hit in Quebec. She won awards at the 1982 Yamaha World Popular Song Festival held in Tokyo, Japan and later in France. She also was a hit at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland.
Her dream was to be a star performer like Michael Jackson and changed her look and image for it. She learned English and in 1990 released her first song Unison. This received critical acclaim and reached great heights on the Billboard Top 100. Her 1991 Voices That Care also was highly appreciated. Her international fame further rose when she sang for the Disney’s animated film Beauty and the Beast. Her 1992 second album also became a hit. Her Francophone album Dion chante Plamondon also was a smash hit. Her romantic album The Colour of My Life was also liked by her fans and became a hit. She has many successful albums to her credits and has remained a fan favorite over the years.
Celine Dion had a manager named René Angélil whom she met in 1980 and who later became her manager. Love bloomed between the two and they began dating. They got engaged in 1991. There exists a 26 years age gap between the two. On 17 December 1994, the duo tied the knot in a ceremony which took place at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Quebec.
She suffered from primary infertility and attempted IVF. Her first son René-Charles Angelil was born on 25 January 2001 and her twins were born on 23 October 2010. Her husband suffered from cancer and she had taken some time off to take care of him. In 2016, he succumbed to the complications of cancer.
Her birth and upbringing
She was born on 30 March 1968 into a large family of Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada. She is the youngest of 14 children. Her parents; Therese (homemaker) and Adhemar (butcher) were both French-Canadian. Music was always a part of her family and Celine grew up seeing it around her. There are no facts related to her school and college life.
