Suzy Kolber’s current career position

Suzy Kolber is a football sportscaster and sideline reporter. She joined ESPN in 1993 and was the main person involved in NFL’s news and coverage. She is the host of Monday Night Countdown, Monday Night pregame, and MNF halftime and postgame segments.

She also anchors the show NFL Insiders which is studio-based. She is also a major part of the Company’s Super Bowl week and also covers the NFL Draft. In 2017, she was promoted and is the solo host of Monday Night Countdown and of MNF halftime and postgame.

Suzy Kolber has been doing interviews on the red carpet and green rooms during the NFL Draft. She also does Sunday NFL Countdowns from the Super Bowl Stadium. She is the first to receive the Maxwell Football Club’s Sports Broadcaster of the Year Award in 2006.

She was on the list of the 10 favorite sports TV personalities of the past 10 years. This list was prepared by Sports Business Daily in 2004.

In the past, Suzy Kolber had also anchored various other games such as French Open, Wimbledon, X Games, Winter X Games, and Triple Crown horse racing events. She has also worked for Fox Sports. She had served the WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach as weekend sports anchor and weekday feature reporter for 2 years from December 1991. She used to do freelance assignments in 1991.

She also served as a sports specials producer for WCIX-TV in Miami, and a producer and director for NFL Films. In 1989-90, Suzy had worked freelance for WPLG-TV in Miami.  From 1986 to 1989, she was with the WTVJ-TV in Miami and had won a local sports Emmy in 1988 for it. She worked as a video coordinator for CBS Sports in New York in 1986 after her studies.

The infamous kiss incident of Suzy Kolber

In 2003, there was an incident on air when Joe Namath, the former Jets greats had told on air that he wanted to kiss Suzy Kolber. He was actually drunk and could not stand still. Suzy had at that time just laughed off the incident stating that ‘it was a huge compliment’ to her. She has justified her statement years later by saying:

“I think the way I felt about it at the time was that he’s a really good guy having a bad moment that happened to be captured on national television.”

Joe Namath had also apologized about the incident at that time and said that he had a little too much of the drinks.

Suzy Kolber’s birth, childhood, and study days

She was born on 14 May 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents are Gene and Sandra Kolber. She was in a regular school at Dublin High School. She was a student of the Sandy Run Middle School. Suzy Kolber had completed her graduation in Arts and telecommunications from the University of Miami in 1986. During her undergraduate days (1984-1986), she was also working at Dynamic Cable in Coral Gables, Florida in the capacity of a sports director.

Suzy Kolber’s family life

Suzy Kolber had dated her longtime boyfriend Eric Brady for more than 2 years. They then decided to tie the knot. They were married in the year 2008. The wedding ceremony was a private affair which was attended by their close friends and family members. The couple has a pretty daughter named Kellyn who was born in 2008. Suzy Kolber was 44 years old when she delivered her daughter. The couple is living a happy and blissful life.
