Meet Emily Luther – Pop Singer
Emily Luther is most known for being a contestant on the hit talent show ‘The Voice.’ Prior to making herself known on this television show, she was truly a simple small-town girl dreaming big. Originally from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, she is the first and only musician in her family, who then went on to study music therapy at the Berklee College of Music. Since she was a young girl, she had a burning passion for musical theatre and had been performing any time she could ever since. While at Berklee, she made tons of connections in L.A., and decided to move out there in pursuit of a musical career. After getting involved with a team of people in the industry who judged Luther by her looks, she decided to put her dreams on hold and move back to R.I. with her family. She mainly performed at weddings and corporate events, until she decided to take a whack at ‘The Voice.’

This entails the contestant singing to four chairs that are turned around as the judges simply listen to the singer’s vocals without making a judgment on their appearance. In Luther’s blind audition, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Jennifer Hudson smack their buttons down for an instant “I WANT YOU,” while fourth judge Miley Cyrus stays out for the count. ‘Summertime’ was the tune that Emily Luther decided to sing, using her own jazzy, bluesy twist on the song that worked perfectly for her vocal range. It was a simply stellar performance that played a key role in helping her move onto the next stage of the competition. GLITTER IN THE AIR
Only a couple weeks ago Luther performed a jaw-dropping version of ‘Glitter In The Air’which, at that point, helped secure her spot on Team Adam. Shortly after this performance, she was sadly eliminated in the playoff rounds. The video of her performance of ‘Glitter In The Air’ is so new that it only totals at 500,000+ views. Many of the participants in the comment section of that video claim that Luther is not fully recognized for the talent that she possesses and deserves a lot more.

Before all the fame from ‘The Voice,’ there was a video that went viral of Emily Luther doing a cover of Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ with the talented Charlie Puth. The original video has been taken down from YouTube for unknown reasons, but another version was uploaded in 2011 that totals at over 3M views. The video was originally from Perez Hilton’s cover contest and won. Sources claim that the video originally came from Charlie Puth’s channel, however, when he began to make it big in the music industry, his label forced him to remove his previous videos and create a new image for him.
