Hall won the UK’s strongest man competition in Belfast in 2011. Hall took first place in the competition by setting a national world record in “Viking Hold.” He also competed at the national level, finishing fourth in 2012. Later that year, Hall was invited to compete in Europe’s Strongest Man, another Giant level event. This giant level event was held at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, and Hall came in eighth place. Hall also competed for World’s Strongest Man in 2012 but did not make the cut.
Hall was unable to qualify for Europe’s Strongest Man in 2013. However, due to a contestant’s injury, Hall was given a second chance and finished eighth. Later that year, Hall competed for the title of World’s Strongest Man. He won two events but did not advance to the Finals. Hall qualified for the finals in 2014 but finished sixth. In 2015, Hall set a World Record in the deadlift by lifting 462 kg. Later that year, in the World Deadlift Championship 2015, he broke his own record by lifting a massive 463 kg.
Hall was featured in a documentary directed by Matt Bell and produced by Tom Swanston in December 2015. In 2016, Hall broke his own record yet again by lifting a massive 500 kg weight that caused him to pass out. However, Hall finally established himself as the World Strongest Man in 2017. Later, he announced that he was having health issues and that he intended to retire from World’s Strongest Man and return to lighter weight competitions.
