Dave Coulier is an American actor and a stand-up comedian who gained fame when he was cast as Joey Gladstone in ABC’s series Full House.
Dave Coulier and his early and childhood days
Dave Coulier was born on 21 September 1959 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, the USA. His complete name is David Alan Coulier and his parents are David Couwlier and Arlen Couwlier. He has a mixed descent; his mother is from Bathurst in New Brunswick, Canada, and his paternal grandmother is a Jewish who had come to the US from Germany as an immigrant.
Dave had an interesting start to his stand-up comedy skill when he used to imitate the voice of his principal and other school staff over the school’s PA system. He was at the Notre Dame High School which was located in Harper Woods, Michigan. He graduated from here in 1977 and during his school times, he used to play ice hockey. He joined the University of Michigan but did not even complete a year since he took a drop to pursue his passion which was the comedy.

Dave had to struggle for some years before he got the break in the entertainment industry. During those tough days, Dave had stayed with Bob Saget and his wife as he had become friends with Bob at that time.
He was selected to be cast as a player in Saturday Night Live in 1986. But the producers felt that his humor style was a common one and hence later decided to not take him. But Dave did not get disappointed and kept searching for bigger breaks as he continued to do whatever work came his way.
He did voice work in Scooby and Scrappy-Doo, The Real Ghostbusters, Slimer! and the real Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, Rude Dogs and the Dweebs, Detention, and Muppet Babies. He hosted a comedy series on Nickelodeon called Out of Control which fared average in ratings.
The breakthrough role as Joey for Dave Coulier
Dave bagged the role of Joey Gladstone on ABC’s show Full House and this was a milestone for him. He was with this show from 1987 to 1995. His acts included doing voices and impersonations.
He then started getting meatier roles to play and appeared in George and Leo and Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher. Dave also was the host of several TV shows which included America’s Funniest People and Opportunity Knocks. He also released a solo album and has done innumerable voice acting.
He acted in some Disney’s movies and also founded his own children’s entertainment company called F3 Entertainment in the year 2000. He did some reality TV shows such as Skating with Celebrities which aired on FOX. He is now part of the Duck’s Breath Mystery comedy troupe and tours with them for shows.

He dated Alanis Morissette for some time. In 2005, he started to date producer and photographer Melissa Bring and married her in Montana on 2 July 2014.
He is also a private pilot and can fly planes.
