Chris spoke about the recent Brett Kavanaugh sexual allegations and stated in September 2018 that it is bad for the reputation of the Republicans. Talking about the rape victim Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony, Chris said:
“It was extremely emotional, extremely raw, and extremely credible,”
“Nobody could listen to her deliver those words and talk about the assault and the impact it had had on his life, on her life, and not have her heart, your heart, go out to her. She obviously was traumatized by an event.”
“This is a disaster for the Republicans.”
Brett, however, got nominated for the post of Associate Justice in place of Justice Kennedy.

Chris was born on 12 October 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. His father is a reporter and called Mike Wallace. He anchors the show CBS 60 Minutes. His mother is Norma Kaphan. Chris’ ethnicity is Jewish. He comes from a broken family wherein his parents divorced when he was 1. His mother remarried and his stepfather is former CBS News President Bill Leonard. His stepfather exposed him early in life to politics and Chris was an assistant to Walter Cronkite.
He had an older brother named Peter who died in the early 1960s. As regards his education, Chris was a student of Hotchkiss School and Harvard College. He graduated from Harvard in 1969 with BA in History.

Chris first joined WHRB station at Harvard. He was admitted at Yale Law School and preferred to take a job with The Boston Globe. He realized that TV had more impact and power than in person and hence chose it as a career. In the early 1970s, he was with the Chicago station WBBM-TV.
Chris joined NBC in 1975 and he was a reporter with WNBC TV in New York for 14 years. He later became a correspondent for the NBC News in Washington. He also anchored The Today show for some time in 1982. He hosted several shows on this network and left it in 1989 to be with ABC. He did several major and dangerous coverages. In 2003, he left ABC and joined Fox News.

Chris was married twice. His first wife was Elizabeth Farrell whom he married in 1973 and has four children with her-Peter, Megan, Andrew, and Catherine. He remarried on 4 October 1997 and his second wife is Lorraine Smothers. Lorraine has two children (Sarah and Remick) from her previous marriage to comedian Dick Smothers. With Chris, she has three children-William, Caroline, and James.
