He is best known for starring in the Reality Show “The last Alaskans” which airs on the discovery channel(previously on Animal Planet). Bob Harte- Short Bio
Bob Harte was born on January 23, 1951, in Jersey City, New Jersey. His parents were Vernon and Eleanor Harte. With his 3 brothers, he led a very active childhood. He used to play baseball, go hunting, fishing, trapping and doing mischievous things. Bob has said that his grandfather taught him construction skill and traits to think independently.
Bob Harte- Alsakan Lifestyle
After briefly attending college, at the age of 21, he dropped out. He was intrigued by the thought of experiencing things himself after reading about the Alaskan lifestyle. He had decided to hitchhike his way to Alaska. He first went to Southeast Alaska and spent a few years there. Then he again traveled to the north of the Interior.
Later Bob Harte heard about an abandoned trapline in the Brooks Range. He went up there and loved the place. So he settled and lived the next 40 years of his life there.
Bob Harte’s Favorite Spot and livelihood
His favorite spot was the “Throne”. It over viewed the river nearby his cabin. He used to sit there and adore the beautiful nature while sipping his warm coffee. He liked the fact that he was the only human around the miles.
For his livelihood, the Alaskan explorer worked as a carpenter in Fairbanks for Binkley family.
Bob Harte Wife, divorce, and child
Bob Harte loved his family. Even if divorced, he loved and respected his ex–wife, Nancy. They shared a convenient friendship until his end.
Bob daughter is Talicia. He loved his daughter even more. Talicia gave birth to a daughter, Carmella, making Bob, a grandfather. He wanted to finish constructing home for Talicia and Carmella so that they could have a comfortable life. But due to his demise, his one wish was not fulfilled.
On July 21, 2017, he has celebrated a peaceful evening, sitting cozily around the fire, surrounded by family and close friends, sharing stories of his own life. How he lived life to the fullest!

Bob Harte had starred in the reality show “ The last Alaskans”. The show along with Bob also follows the life of other individuals who live in the remote wilderness of Alaska. The first season of the show was aired on the animal planet while the following two seasons were aired on the discovery channel. The fourth season was to be aired in near future.
Bob Harte- Illness and treatment
Bob Harte had cancer in the second season of the show. He was in poor health and was rapidly losing weight. He realized he was too unwell to stay by himself in his cabin located in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. So, he left Alaskian home to aid his degrading health in 2016.
In the last (third) season, Bob underwent treatment and was responding to the prescribed medication. He had even started to recover. After recovering, he was able to return to the cabin after treatment in early 2017. He was joined by Daughter Talicia and Ex-wife Nancy. The moments were heartwarming to watch.
He always hoped that he would make a full recovery and go back to doing what he loved best. The fans were also glad that their star had returned to the show. But the excitement was short-lived due to his sudden death.
Bob Harte passed away peacefully
On Saturday, July 22, 2017, in Fairbanks, Alaska, Bob Harte passed away. He was 66.
It was revealed in the Facebook post that the reality star died in his sleep surrounded by family and friends.

Bob was survived by his ex-wife, Nancy, daughter Talicia, a foster son, Steve and a stepson, Traver. His death was also announced on Twitter.

Bob Harte’s daughter Talicia Harte is known to have a disability. Bob’s family have always wanted to establish a trust fund for her. At the Bob Harte Memorial held on July 29, 2017, at 2655 Tall Spruce Way in Fairbanks, Alaska, 99709, the family even requested people to bring monetary gifts rather than flowers and cards so that there will be some financial security for Talicia.

“The Last Alaskans” after Bob’s death
After the death of Bob Harte, fans are eagerly waiting for the return of the reality show. But unfortunately, it seems that the show will not return.
Producer John Jones said:
“None of the talent wanted to be portrayed in a sort of Kardashian kind of style. They wanted us to take this seriously, and we assured them that we intended to take this seriously, make this more of an Alaska 360 approach.”
