Barty Junior began his career on the ITF Junior Circuit in 2009, at the age of 13, while she was in Grade 4. Her first game at a junior Grand Slam event was at the 2011 Australia Open, where she was defeated by Lauren Davies. Then, at the age of 15, she won the grand slam title at Wimbledon in the 2011 French Open.

From 2012 to 2014, she only made it to the first round of the Australian Open in her senior career.
