The menacing professional wrestler from America Mark Calaway or Undertaker as he is popularly called has been in this career since 1984. He has won many championships and is considered as ‘the soul of WWE’. He is WWE’s longest-tenured wrestler.

Mark Calaway’s assumed retirement and his resurgence

In April 2017, Undertaker had lost to Reigns at the WrestleMania 33. After the defeat, Undertaker left his gloves, coat, and hat in the center of the ring before he made a quiet exit. This was assumed to mean that he is retiring.

But his retirement was just rumored since it was said that Undertaker would participate in the RAW 25 years episode in January 2018. Undertaker did take part but did not accept John Cena’s challenge until April this year when he defeated John in just 3 minutes.

About Calaway’s career

Undertaker has an enormous height of 6 feet and 10 inches. He debuted into wrestling in 1984 with the World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) and had the ring name of Texas Red. After 4 years, Undertaker joined the Continental Wrestling Association. In 1989, he entered the ring as The Master of Pain.

He was the Mean Mark here and enjoyed his time with the Association. He was a mid-card performer on the show. After a year in 1990, Mark joined WWF which is now called as WWE.

His Undertaker ring name days

One he joined WWE, he was given the name of Undertaker. It was here that he really shot to fame. He was the horror-filled macabre entity who supposedly used scare tactics against his opponents. He had links to the supernatural.

He was the most prominent person in the ring and helped boost the business of WWE. This was the Attitude Era. He was part of several major storylines on the show.

He was in the character of a biker and later in 2004 returned to his previous gimmicks. He had a series of victories with this association.

Undertaker has more than 17 championships throughout his career in wrestling. He has been a WWE champion 7 times which is a feat. He was 6 times WWE tag team champion. He also was the WWE Hardcore champion once.

Mark’s titles and wins outside the WWE

Outside the WWE, he was once also the WCW Tag Team Champion. He once also was the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion. He also received the title of USWA Texas Champion once. He had multiple pay-per-view events.

He had also won the 2007 edition of Royal Rumble. He indeed is the soul of the WWE and the most favorite and greatest wrestlers of all time.

The grest Undertaker’s early childhood days

Make Calaway was born on 24 March 1965 in Houston, Texas. His father was Frank Compton Calaway who died in 2003 while his mother is Betty Catherine Truby. He has 4 older brothers-David, Michael, Paul, and Timothy. His cousins are Ron and Don Harris and Brian Lee.

He was good in sports in school and had attended Waltrip High School where he excelled in basketball and football. After graduating in 1983, he joined Angelina College situated in Lufkin, Texas. He received a basketball scholarship. In 1985, he enrolled at the Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. He did his majors in sports management. In 1985-=1986, he played basketball for the Rams. However, in 1986, he decided to cease his studies and take up professional sports career and he never repented his decision.

His personal life

Undertaker was married thrice. His first wife was Jodi Lynn whom he married in 1989. Their son Gunner Vincent was born in 1993. The couple divorced in 1999. On 21 July 2000, he married Sara IN St. Petersburg, Florida. The couple’s first daughter Chasey was born on 21 November 2002 and their second daughter Gracie came on 15 May 2005. In 2007, there was a split in the couple.

He started dating former wrestler Michelle McCool whom he married on 26 June 2010 in Houston, Texas. Their child Kaia was born on 29 August 2012. Currently, he seems to be happy.
